Normally a physical fitness exam would be just another day in the office for my husband; however, with him gearing up for his new training course, the physical fitness exam plays a vital role in his overall academic program as well . Routinely, I find myself participating in the 3 major testing requirements with my husband, starting with push ups, then sit-ups and finally the a 2 mile run.
To help prepare my hubby for his fitness test I start off by timing him in each event in the order he would perform them on the test. For the testing he has 2 minutes to complete as many push-ups as he can (In order to get the full 100 points he has to complete 80 push ups). He then has 2 minute to complete as many sit-ups as he can (In order to get the full 100 points he must complete 82 of them). He then has 10 minutes rest before the run begins. For the run he must complete 2 miles in under 13 min and 13 sec to score the full 100 points.
In order to help my hubby stay motivated and keep the competitive nature going I jump in and do the sit-ups, push-ups and run with him. The physical test is used by the Army to check the physical stamina of their soldiers. I enjoy preparing for the test with my husband, but it also gives me an idea of where my physical fitness is presently, and allows me to identify my strengths and weaknesses. Whether I need to improve in my cardio or work on my core, this exam allows me to track my progress on my over all physical stamina. I find preparing with my husband improves my physical and mental strength. These three workouts may be the most common old school workouts but if you place them together in a timed event, you might find that your current workout is either benefiting your physical fitness or possibly needs improvement. Overall, I just find that testing your physical strength and stamina every once in a while is a great way to show you how beneficial your workout routine is.

For today’s workout I am wearing a VS sports bra, plain black workout top (I have had since high school not sure where I got it from) and one of my favorite new workout capris from MPG, the Simha Capri Tights. MPG is one of my new favorite places to get workout clothing from. Their clothing fits and feels so comfortably on, making workouts that much better! Not to mention their workout gear is so stylish
I also really like the fact that the fabric is moisture wicking, meaning is absorbs the sweat from your body for quick drying.
