My Review
I have recently been loving matte shadows and having a complete palette full of them is amazing. This palette comes with your most used shades (peaches, creams, browns, and even a black) in all matte formulations. They are soft and creamy making them easy to apply and blend out when on the lid. I love that this palette comes with the right neutral shades that can be worn for day and then transformed into night time. A lot of the colors are very ‘soft’ making them not very pigmented; whereas, the darker shades have a greater pigmentation. I would have to say that my favorite shade in the palette is Wind because it matches my skin tone so well, making it perfect to ‘clean up’ any mistakes I may have made.
Looks I created with the Palette
I call this look Smokey Siren and I used the following shades to create this:
Air: as a highlight under my brow bone and inner tear duct
Wind: Applied all over my lid and up to my brow. Also used to ‘clean’ up after the look was complete.
Smoke: Used on the inner and outer corners of my lids as well as the crease and outer lower lash line.
Clay: Applied to the middle of my lid and middle of my lower lash line
Smudge Stick Waterproof eyeliner in Halfmoon: used as the eyeliner
This is my Neutral look using the following shades:
Rain: Applied all over my lid
Driftwood: applied to outer corner and blended into the crease
Earth: applied to the outer V for more definition
Wind: Applied all over my lid and up to my brow. Also used to ‘clean’ up after the look was complete.
Air: as a highlight under my brow bone and inner tear duct
This look is made to make blue eyes pop! I must admit, at first glance I was intimidated by the shade Fire from this palette. I thought it was ugly and unbearable, in all honesty. I showed it to my sister (pro makeup artist) and she told me that it is actually a great color to put in your crease to make your blue eyes pop. She said one of her favorite colors that she has for making her blue eyes pop is MAC’s Red Brick (very similar to Fire by Stila). I felt a little bit better about trying this color on my lids and did just what she said. I applied to my crease and blended well. I am now loving this shade!
So for this look I used the following shades:
Air: as a highlight under my brow bone and inner tear duct
Wind: Applied all over my lid and up to my brow. Also used to ‘clean’ up after the look was complete.
Desert: Applied all over my lid
Fire: Applied in my crease and blended well
Summary
Rating: A Overall: I really love having this palette in my collection. The colors go well together making looks easy to create. Where to purchase: Nordstrom Price: $39.00
