Kaia 100% Biodegradable Bamboo Facial Cleansing Cloths Review, Photos and demonstration

Kaia 100% Biodegradable Bamboo Facial Cleansing Cloths

I don’t know about you but there are nights when I am just to tired to wash my face before passing out for the deveining. I know what your thinking, big mistake right!?! I know I am not happy to admit it but I’m sure most of us have those nights and can relate to me. For those nights, I love having a pack of wipes next to my bed so that I at least don’t fall asleep with makeup covering my face. I have tried a few different wipes in my past but currently I am using the Pond’s makeup removing wipes. I recently had the opportunity to try out a new brand of wipes that I had never heard of before, the Kaia 100% Biodegradable Bamboo Facial Cleansing Cloths. I was sent a few individual packaged wipes (shown below) to test out.

First Impressions

I was happy to hear that the Kaia clothes were FREE of any parabens, sulfates, alcohol, synthetic and fragrance. Plus the were 100% biodegradable.

The Pros:

Each unbleached bamboo cloth has:

• 8 pure essential oils…real essential oils, not faux fragrance

• a special blend of citrus oils, spearmint and tangerine…
that help keep the skin fresh and balanced

• sunflower oil… helps lift impurities leaving your skin fresh and clean

• certified organic honey… to keep skin hydrated

• oat amino acids… to deep cleanse and get rid of the dirty day

* They have a sweet lovely smell to them

The Con’s:

The cost is a little to pricey for me. A package of 30 wipes costs $17.99 on Bloom’s website.

Kaia Cloths VS. Pond’s

As you can see in the pictures below the Kaia wipes are much smaller than the Pond’s wipes. Upon opening the Kaia wipes I felt as if I had opened a hand sanitizing wipe. The way if was folded up in my sample pack, size and the feel felt the same as a hand sanitizing wipe. I would have liked to see the wipe a little bit larger than it was but in reality I could flip over the wipe for the other side of my face if needed. I did really like the fact that the Kaia wipes were soaked in essential oils and vitamins so I knew my face was being taken care of. The smell is also really nice and refreshing!

For the purpose of this review, I decided to apply a heavy amount of makeup to put the wipes to the ultimate test. Today the wipes will attempt to remove the following makeup from my face:

  • Revlon color correcting primer
  • Benefit porless primer
  • Glo Minerals Liquid foundation
  • Paledello transparent finishing powder
  • BH Cosmetics Blush
  • Revlon red lipstick and lip gloss
  • 4 different Revlon eye shadows
  • BH liquid black eyeliner
  • Too Faced shadow in my eyebrows
  • Lash Food Mascara
  • Urban Decay super curl curling mascara

I used the Kaia wipes on the RIGHT side of MY face (your left) and used the Pond’s on the LEFT side of MY face (your right). Although I did not notice a difference in the amount of makeup that was removed from my face between both wipes, I did notice a slight difference in the amount of eye makeup that was removed. The Kaia wipe were able to remove a little bit more than the Pond’s wipe were able to remove. You can see this in the below close up photos of my eyes.

Summing it up

Rating: Overall rating is an A-

Overall: I really enjoy the fact that the wipes are soaked in essential oils and vitamins. I also love that they are free of any parabens, sulfates, alcohol, synthetic and fragrance. Plus they are 100% biodegradable and smell really nice. (A pink grapefruit scent). I felt as if they removed my makeup well even though my eye makeup didn’t completely come off (I have yet to find a wipe that removes all of my eye makeup). I also like how nice and soft my skin felt after using them. The part I didn’t like was the size of the wipe and the high price tag on them.

Where to purchase: Bloom.com

Price: $17.99 for 30 wipes
