CANDY! Oh I don’t know many people who don’t like candy. Well ya’ll, I have Face Candy today—Face Candy Couture to be exact. Face Candy Couture is sweeping the nation with their astounding mineral eye shadows, and the heart-warming story of how the lady of the hour, Shantle Shipp, made it all possible. Head on over and read her story!
To start with, I LOVE the way they present themselves! Check out Face Candy Couture’s home page to see what I mean… Too cute, right!? I must say, it is definitely a good way to make a great impression in the crazy world of cosmetics. We received 6 individual eye shadows from them, each and every one unique and beautiful in their own ways. A couple of them seemed similar, but when you have that perfect outfit, you need that perfect hue to match.
Let’s start in order (Top left to right, then bottom left to right): Hawaiian Sunset (#46), Pink Honey Drop (#57) [my FAVE!], Greed (#145), Lavender Fields (#59), Sweet Innocence (#134), and Baby Cakes (#130).
Ahhh, the colors of spring. It seriously reminded of a freshly clustered Mother’s Day bouquet! Each one was so diverse, yet similar in that they are soft, and pigmented just the way I like them. I don’t get out much, so the deep deep deeply pigmented eye shadows don’t do much for me, especially in that I have very light skin. Also, I very much dislike dry, overly packed eye shadows that just don’t cut it and you need a spoonful of it AND primer just to cover your eyelid with it. I think that the swatch on my hand gives a pretty good example, being that I used a very thin layer. With every layer becoming darker, getting the rich color you desire won’t take much at all, but thin layers are easy to come by as well!
My favorite was the Pink Honey Drop! I have used it the most and it’s what I have on in the pictures posted (sorry I haven’t gotten the hang of taking photos of my eyeballs yet). My second favorite was blending Pink Honey Drop and Hawaiian Sunset together, also shown. I used Greed at one point as eyeliner—worked out great! And Lavender Fields, Sweet Innocence and Baby Cakes also blend very well, too. I’d really like to try Smurfette (#64) and Adore (#171)!
Right now, instead of $4.99 each, you can get 3 for $11.99, 6 for $20.99, 10 for $29.99, and a whopping 20 for only $49.99! You gotta take advantage J What’re your favorite shades?
