Today I wanted to share with you all some of my new favorite face products by Laura Geller. I was recently introduced to Laura Geller’s products and immediately fell in love with them after trying. The three products that I have and use on a daily bases are: Spackle Primer, Balanced-N-Brighten foundation, in Natural and Blush-N-Brighten in Pink Grapefruit. I am going to show you my foundation routine using only these 3 products on my face, other than my eyes and lips of course.
The first thing I apply is the Spackle Primer
I have been using Laura Geller’s Spackle prime religiously under my makeup since receiving it a few weeks ago. As most of you already know I have severely bad acne right now, plus I have combination skin. My skin is very oily, yet I often have dry patches in different areas. Due to this, I always applied moisturizer to my face before foundation, which aided to making my skin even more oily. Since using Spackle I find that I no longer need to use moisturizer because it hydrates the dry areas for me. Now that I no longer use moisturizer under my makeup I have seen a HUGE difference in my acne. Yes I still have a lot of acne but the large bumps are start to minimize and the other blemishes are acne scaring. I now believe that a lot of my acne was due to excess oil which can lead to blemishes and acne flare-ups. Now, I am not saying that spackle gets rid of acne, I am saying that since using it I no longer needed to use a moisturizer which was making me produce even more excess oil and causing me to break out even more (I did not realize this until now).
Spackle itself is a wonderful primer that helps to smooth out my skin before applying my makeup. It is very lightweight and contains aloe Vera gel, which is why it provides enough hydration to my skin to where I do not need to use a moisturizer. It also has protective antioxidants and is great for all skin types, especially dry skin. When using spackle primer I notice that my acne scars and enlarged pores are definitely smaller. My makeup lasts all day with this primer and other than using oil sheets I don’t have to touch up my makeup. I have included a few pictures of me applying Spackle to my face. At only $25 for a whole 2 oz. this is a great deal, especially when you only need one pump a day.
The second thing I apply is the Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation
After applying Spackle to my face I apply my foundation. Now, because I have such bad acne I usually apply a full coverage liquid foundation and then apply the Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation on top of that foundation. For the sake of the review, I am only applying the Balance N Brighten to show you the type of coverage it offers.
First off, let me say that I am in love with this foundation because it does not irritate my sensitive skin. This foundation contains Centella Asiatica, White Tea, and Jojoba Seed Oil for anti-aging, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial, and moisturizing properties…making it great for EVERY skin type, even acne prone skin like mine. This is a HUGE plus for me and another bonus for me is that this foundation is oil and paraben free!
As you can see the foundation has a marble looking effect to it. That is because it starts out as a creamy liquid and is then infused with colors that flatter your skin. It’s baked for 24 hours, resulting in a liquid powder with marble swirls. The foundation is available in Fair, Medium, Tan and is self adjusting to your skin color.
The foundation glides smoothly onto my skin while evening out the skin tone. I use the kabuki brush that it came with and it works great. As you can see in the photos below it covers pretty darn well! I would say it’s a medium to full coverage foundation. I say medium because if you have severe acne like me you may have to use a foundation underneath it or apply a lot of concealer on top. If you have great skin then it would provide full coverage without the feel or look of full coverage.
Yes I know my face is scary without makeup! However, I am brave enough to show you my naked face! In the photo to the right I am wearing nothing on my face other than the spackle primer and Balance-N-Brighten foundation. Here is the proof that this foundation is awesome! Yes you can still see some of my larger acne flare ups but when you look at how my face looks (photo to the left if you couldn’t tell lol) without it you can definitely see that it works.
The Last thing I apply is the Blush-N-Brighten
The next step in my foundation routine is to apply a blush. My current favorite blush is also by Laura Geller, pink grapefruit. Pink grapefruit is one of the shades offered in Laura Geller’s Blush-N-Brighten line. I really love this blush because I find that the swirl of colors blend perfectly together to complement my skintone, offering a more natural look. I apply this blush with a light hand for a softer effect, but it is definitely a buildable blush. I find that it stays on my cheeks for the majority of the day without reapplying.
Completed Look
Here is my completed Face look using the Spackle Primer, Balanced-N-Brighten and Blush-N-Brighten by Laure Geller. ( I also added my eye and lip makeup)
Let me know what you all think! I would love to know if you have tried any of Laura Geller’s products before and what you thought of it. If you haven’t, can you see yourself trying them in the near future?
