Make-A-Difference Monday: WeWOOD Time Pieces Watch Review

Hello all :) Welcome back to Make-A-Difference Monday! If you have missed out on the last few, please check out how Make-A-Difference Monday’s started, or check out an example of other spotlight posts we’ve had. Basically, we LOVE to do good, and we want you to do good too! We want to make it easy for you, so we’ve partnered with some fantastic companies, including WeWOOD.

WeWOOD is a beautiful collection of time pieces that began all with a love for the environment. An Italian shoe-makers son, and two eco-smart entrepreneurs who all wanted to make a stylish difference in the world came together and created what you see here today! WeWood fashions their timepieces from mostly scrap-wood and uses top-of-the-line Miyota movements for the insides. The results are obvious and apparent: Gorgeous watches for both men and women that are eco-friendly AND splash-proof :)

Now for the good stuff! WeWOOD has created their company not just to share nature and time, but to give back to the earth as well. For every watch sold, a tree is planted! WeWOOD has partnered with American Forests and Global Releaf in order to make this huge project possible. Check out their Plant a Tree page for more info and details on how they will have planted over 35 MILLION trees by the end of this year.

They have several styles to choose from to fit any personality.  All of the pieces are hypo-allergenic and are completely toxin-free. My favorite was the WeWOOD Date Beige watch, which I was able to review to show you the beauty in each and every piece they create. ‘Date’ is made of Maple, which is how it get it’s rich light color, that is changes slightly depending on the season or it’s age.
FuN FaCt: Maple is also used in smoke houses and culinary arts, and to make many instruments like the guitar and violin.

The timepieces come in a great little box that displays it nicely, and a few little pictures with sayings on each side that let you know in an artistic way that it’s 100% natural. I did have to get the piece sized to fit, and it will fit just about anyone– I had to remove about 5 links so that it wouldn’t fall off! I have reallllly skinny wrists, so it’s good to know you don’t have to worry about it not fitting correctly. Just studying the piece you will notice off the bat that each is delicately carved, sanded and buffed to be high quality and long-lasting.

It is a great conversation piece! I know this for a fact because I got at least 7 comments and/or questions about it when I wore it to work–several from people I rarely speak to (usually just passers-by). Being flattered by it being noticed, I was thrilled to share the story behind it and even gave out the website to a few. My boyfriend says he wants one for Christmas :) I’ll have to start planning that as I’ve already got something in mind, but I’m so excited he’s getting into the eco-friendly and stylish world with me.

 Yes… I am a total goof. ^^^

Such a fantastic thing WeWOOD is doing, so be stylish while making a difference!

I saw these a while ago, and forgot about them.

I'm glad I saw your review, I've really been wanting to get one; I just love watches, and it's so unique that they're wooden :D

My watch broke three months after I got it. I loved the watch, but getting a new one wasn't easy. I had to take a photo of the watch, submit my tracking number (evidence of returning a broken watch – which you have to do first before getting a replacement), and pay the cost of shipping (I've NEVER heard of a company requiring this), and all the while dealt with a rather surly customer service representative. My cost of shipping was over $16 with shipping and packaging as it is cross-country. The policy on their site states that shipping back a broken item will be covered by WeWood. I submitted my receipt for reimbursement for shipping and two weeks later- nothing. I called to check and they hadn't mailed it. Then, they tried to insist they'd only pay me for $5. Be aware of this if your watch does break.

Hi, is this watch feel too big for your wrist? I have small wrists too and was going to get the moon beige but the date beige looks so much better.

no the watch is not big on my wrists and you can always take it to get sized if it is on your wrists!
